Harmony Repairs
Restoring Instruments, Reviving Music in Our Schools
Our MISSION
The purpose of Harmony Repairs is to help schools grow their music programs and curricula. For many schools, instruments of high quality are not available to students due to their high cost of purchase and maintenance. Through personal experience, many students were seen relying on very damaged or poor-quality instruments for their music education. The amount of funding necessary to keep a music program active is only affordable for some districts. Therefore, this organization works to help schools build a music program by offering free-of-cost services in instrument maintenance. Specifically, we are working to help schools cut down costs by fixing violins, violas, cellos, and bows, ultimately striving for better music education across the community.
Why Music?
Music is something that has always been a part of my life. Being born as the daughter of a luthier, I came to appreciate music from a young age. Music can touch the emotions and feelings in a way that nothing else can, serving as an escape from the stress of everyday life. Music can become someone’s way of storytelling. Where words fail to speak, music can fill in the gaps. I believe that everyone should have access to music as a way to let their emotions speak freely. Additionally, music is a great avenue to connect with others through music programs as well as group playing settings. It provides a community in which you feel safe and accepted.
